Snacks are a crucial part of hosting friends over for a movie marathon. Since Mami of Puella Magi Madoka Magica always had tea and cake, I made brownies out of cake mix and brewed tea that sparkles.
The Food
Since I moved back home, I have not too much space for all my baking materials and have a kitchen that’s far too small to be able to splay them out and still have space to mix things. That’s where Bob’s Red Mill comes in with his chocolate cake mix, which is useful, especially if you’re gluten-free.
Using some instructions from Cookies and Cups, I transformed this cake mix into brownies with a few adjustments, making the full recipes as follows:

The brownies came out delicious, though not as fudgy as expected. Yet, the excess chocolate added a level of creaminess and decreased how cake-y the brownies were. The only downside was all the dark chocolate that had hardened onto the serving platter, which isn’t really an issue at all.
The Drink
Because of pretty transformation sequences, magical spells, and how well the earthiness of this tea pairs with chocolate, I decided to go with Glitter and Gold from David’s Tea. Cloves and vanilla are appropriate flavors for the holiday season, which is slowly upon us.
The Clothes
An important part of enjoying films with friends is comfort. I skipped pants that day and went with leggings and wore a giant sweater for warmth and coziness. It also mimics the white coat of Kyubey from the series, I guess that would be the extent of my tie-in.
Keep it yummy,
Jo
