I don’t even know why I think making frosting at the same time cupcakes are happening is a good idea. You would think that after a few years of cupcake-making for and with friends, I would learn something. Well, here’s another failed frosting attempt, but also a delicious attempt at combining three things people like: Bacon, dates, and goat cheese.
This weekend was special for me and Matthew, for it was our 2nd Anniversary. We decided to celebrate in the best way we knew how. Which involved two baking projects. I’ll provide the recipe to this one, since it actually worked (with some adjustments).

I was away for a week or so, apologies for the lack of posts. After my root canal, I had to eat a liquid diet. But then I had to start getting some nutrients, so my boyfriend had this great idea to go to Polish town of Greenpoint, New York. We went to a rustic joint called Karczma and you’ve never eaten a Polish grill plate like we have.
On Thursday, I got a root canal done. If you want to know what the most uncomfortable nap is like, imagine blinding lights, drills in your mouth, and Phil Collins as your background music. This procedure has lessened the fear of infection due to an infected tooth, but has resulted in changes that I will need to implement for the next week or so. Such as joining the fruit smoothie club.
Over the summer, I had made a serious commitment to fitness, which involved going to the gym every day. Observing my own performance, I realized that I worked better after I ate some combination of carbs, sugar, fat, and protein.
